417-04-2 Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) 417-04-2 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) In areas in which daytime running lamps (DRL) are required by law, the body control module (BCM) switches on the DRL when the ignition is switched on. The configuration in the BCM can be changed using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). This makes aftermarket configuration of vehicles fitted with DRL possible (e.g. on customer request or in response to changes in the law). Vehicles with DRL can be combined with autolamps.
